Book Club:
Hey, everyone!
With people asking questions regarding how we’ll be running the book club, I thought I’d send a couple of my ideas. All other suggestions are welcomed and encouraged!
Basically, if everybody in the club would like to suggest a book to read, then we’ll take it in turn reading everybody’s suggestion. Then we’ll just repeat the process once we’ve read one of everybody’s.
Also, regarding what we read, there are no specific requirements. We were just thinking that we would prefer to read something quite intellectually stimulating rather than easy-going pleasure novels. This doesn’t mean we’ll just be reading English Victorian novels or whatever, simply that it would be nice to broaden our reading a little; for example: reading books by George Orwell rather than the Harry Potter series.
These ideas aren’t necessarily how we’ll approach it though, so all suggestions are welcome!
Guys seriously, put in your suggestions!
In terms of what we’re going to read
thatnellegirl asked: Hey i'm interested in joining your book club, what kind of books did you have in mind
Not sure yet! Any suggestions?
etaunknown asked: with regards to the tumblr book club, do you have an idea of which genres/ eras you would be most likely to wind up reading?
I’m not entirely sure yet, check out this blog to see a few I’ve read in the past, also http://celadontiernan.tumblr.com and http://religion-of-solitude.tumblr.com (we’re the two people running the blog.)
I guess I can kind of sum it up by saying that we’re not opposed to any genre, but we do want to read something that has a bit of meaning, not something that’s just for fun.
Thanks for asking, that’s a good question. What kind of things did you have in mind?
Hey everyone,
Sorry this blog hasn’t been very active, I’ve been really busy with school… UNTIL NOW!
My friend and I want to start a Tumblr book club, open to anyone who wants to join us.
If you want to join, let us know here, and please give us your suggestions as to what we should read?
Thanks!

As I read this beautifully written European book about something so tragic, it is difficult not to become permanently depressed by the fact that I will probably never experience anything of wide-scale value during my modern, privileged life. It pains me to awaken from my immersion in this gorgeous novel to find that I am sitting in my public college’s library, in a scratchy armchair, surrounded by potted trees.
I need to get out more.

I know I said I would be reading Gay New York, but I actually have to read this first because I need to write something about it for class next Tuesday. Eek.
I promise this blog will get more interesting once school lets out. I’m gonna finish Brave New World, and then my next pick will probably be Don Quixote. Thanks for bearing with me :)
Just so you know:
I ALWAYS follow back, but this is a side blog, so you will not see “celadonreads,” follow you, but instead you will see “celadontiernan.” Anybody who enjoys my blog is a friend in my book.

Hey everyone, (AKA my three followers)
I have to read a pretty dense book for school, so I’m going to take a break from Brave New World for a little while. But never fear, I will be back on track come April :)
Not to mention that, in the meantime, I will be reading Gay New York for a gender studies project, and so that will become the subject matter of this blog.
For those of you who are unclear about the intention of this blog… this blog is a place for me to share my journey in reading a book with my followers, and perhaps eventually form an actual book club through Tumblr. (If any of you are interested, let me know.) This blog will by no means always be about Aldous Huxley or Brave New World.
Thanks :)
